Dear MendMeShop,

I have been using the Inferno & Freezie Wraps since November,2012. I saw an orthopedic doctor after Thanksgiving and have been going to occupational therapy (3) days per week. I was told by my ortho doctor to continue to use the items that I had purchased from you (I brought them in on my initial visit with him). I am currently using the inferno wrap as soon as I wake up in the morning, then continue to do my daily wrist and arm exercises. I use the freezie wrap when I am finished. While working I use a tennis elbow brace and I am also using it while doing housework or other chores where I am using my arm alot. My arm is improving slowly as I am working (4) days a week as a chef for 12-14 hours per day. My ortho doctor told me that it would take some time to heal completely. I don't see him until the end of February (3 months since initial visit). So far I am seeing improvement in both pain management and flexibility. I believe the combination of therapy sessions and the use of your wrap treatments are the key to a successful treatment plan. I'll keep you informed of my progress. Thanks again for your help and guidance.

More Facts About Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

In 2003 the US Department of Labor reported 23 days as the average number of work days missed due to CTS Ė costing over $2 billion a year.

There is little medical evidence yet proving that carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by repetitive movements.

If youíre unable to tell the difference between hot and cold with your hand, you might be suffering from a severe case of CTS or some other injury (ie. an impingement or ganglion cyst).

Continually using your wrist while it is injured will lead to a more serious and/or chronic injury.

In chronic cases of carpal tunnel syndrome the muscles at the base of your thumb might atrophy (waste away).

Most doctors wonít suggest surgery unless conservative treatment is tried for 6 months.

Wrist arthritis or a wrist fracture can narrow the space in your wrist that might cause carpal tunnel syndrome.

Moving your hand or shaking your wrist can temporarily help to relieve the tingling sensation or swollen feeling.

Itís common in the early stages of CTS to feel pain and numbness at night while sleeping.

Not all wrist and finger pain or finger numbness and tingling is carpal tunnel syndrome.

Only 40% of people suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome will continue to feel full pain relief 1 year after a cortisone injection.

Doctors wonít normally give someone more than 2 or 3 cortisone injections to reduce pain from CTS.

There is no clinical proof that use of computers, cell phones, PDAís, gaming systems, and other handheld devices will cause CTS.

Dear MendMeShop,

I have owned the elbow Inferno Wrap for over a year now. I have had tennis elbow in both elbows for over 15 years. After any activity using either arm, both elbows ache...heavily. About 15 months ago, the tennis elbow got so bad in my left arm I had to finally go under the knife for torn tendons both in my elbow and my bicep. I could not even extend my arm while sleeping and the gym was a FAR fetched memory. The process from the first doctor's appointment to the actual operating table took about 4 months. I was also told the recovery would be about 3 months and not fully recovered from the tears for a full year. I was informed that no matter what I did, I would always have this inflammation in my elbow and I needed something to give. Either my activity level, including the gym, would have to be cut down drastically, or I had to find a way to get the inflammation down. I am allergic to all anti-inflammatories and NSAIDS. This is where my researched turned up the Inferno Wrap. As you can imagine, I have tried all sorts of heating pads, cooling pads, ice therapy, and months of physical therapy. I believe I even found the Mend Me Shop and the Inferno Wrap while looking for something along the heating and cooling pad line. My immediate thought was why are these so expensive? What makes them so special? I have to say that initially, I took a chance because I had no other option for relief. The day the Inferno Wrap arrived, I knew I had something I had not had access to before. You can tell IMMEDIATELY tell after turning this on that is is working DEEP into the tissue. The wrap does get warm, but in NO WAY is this a heating pad. THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT PROVIDED AND CONTINUES TO PROVIDE ME RELIEF. I have not dialed down my activity level. When my elbows ache, the Inferno Wrap goes on, and within one 20 minute treatment, the ache is gone. Believe me when I say I have been looking for this for 15 years steady. I have since recommended to EVERYONE I know the Inferno Wrap, and have purchased one for my back, which works just as well, as expected. This is a product that works. This is a product that is backed by good customer service. This is a product that is worth EVERY PENNY. Knowing what I know now, buying the Inferno Wrap was no chance, but a miracle and nothing less.

Dear MendMeShop,

I'm doing well with my Inferno Wraps. I have one for my foot, leg, back, and elbow. My elbow IS gradually getting better. The foot/ankle/Achilles, leg, and back/hip are helping a lot. I have a complex soft tissue injury from a fall where my foot was asleep and I did not know it ... UNTIL I fell on the floor, having twisted (running on my foot that turned over) my ankle, knee, and hip. I have healed well from the original injury (now 4 years ago) with lots of chiropractic and massage therapy and lots of rehab. One of my rehabs now is "Ballroom Dancing" with a teacher who understands injuries. I call it "Physio-dance therapy for rehabilitation." I've done this for the last 8 months and have gotten incredibly stronger and improved coordination and balance. But, 3 weeks ago I "strained" my Achilles/calf/ankle/foot muscles and tendons. I purchased the Inferno Wraps to help expedite my healing, which they HAVE DONE and I've only used them 2 weeks now. I am using them 2 times per day, every day.

Dear MendMeShop,

I'm VERY happy with the elbow wraps--GREAT designs! My doctor told me that torn tendons can take months to heal; so, I'm not expecting overnight results. As a follow-up on the elbow wraps months later... They helped the tendons heal up nicely! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! Keep up the good work!

What is a Wrist Sprain?

A sprained wrist is a common and painful injury and, at the very least, can be an annoyance given the frequency we rely on our wrists for daily work, chores, and activities.

A fall on an outstetched hand is a common cause of wrist sprain.

A wrist sprain often occurs during a fall on an outstretched hand, when the force of the twist or direct blow causes the wrist ligaments to stretch abnormally. If the wrist ligaments stretch or tear they become inflamed and pain and swelling sets in. A fall may happen in during sports, in icy weather, or simply if balance is lost while walking.

The wrist is made up of 8 small bones, referred to as carpal bones. These bones lie between the radius and ulna in the forearm and the metacarpal bones in the palm of the hand and are arranged in 2 rows. The 4 bones next to the forearm are called the proximal row and the 4 bones that run along the hand are called the distal row. These wrist bones are held together by ligaments which are tough connective bands of tissue that attach the bones in the wrists together. Along with the bones, they stabilize the wrist and hand, balancing the joint and allowing movement in various directions.

How Severe is Your Sprained Wrist?

The ligaments in the wrist can be sprained to varying degrees depending on the force that caused the sprain and the strength of the ligaments and wrist bones. There are 3 difference grades of sprains and the grade is determined by the severity of the tissue damage.

Conservative treatment with the AidMyCTS.com system (Wrist Inferno and Freezie Wraps) can help to relieve pain, inflammation and chronic mobility issues from wrist injuries like a sprained wrist.

Grade 1 - Mild Sprain

A grade 1 sprain is the least serious of ligament sprains. Stretching or some minor tearing of the wrist ligaments occurs but the wrist remain reasonably stable. These injuries usually heal well if treated quickly with rest (a brace can help limit movement) and cold compression therapy. Once the stretching and minor tears have healed, it is important to improve the health of the ligaments and tendons, restore the elasticity, and strengthen the wrist joint with Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) to reduce the risk of re-injuring it again.

Grade 2 - Moderate Sprain

A grade 2 sprain occurs when a ligament is partially torn but still intact. If you have a grade 2 sprain, strength in the wrist is reduced. This grade of sprain can also be effectively treated with cold compression and BFST®. It is recommended that you allow your wrist to rest and possibly wear a brace to immobilize the joint and allow it to heal.

Grade 3 - Severe Sprain

When a wrist ligament is completely torn it is considered a grade 3 sprain or tear. The stability of the wrist joing is greatly reduced and pain is evident. Treatment of a complete ligament tear requires surgery to reattach the ligament to the wrist bone or back together at the point of the tear on the ligament. Cold compression and BFST® can be used prior to surgery to minimize tissue damage, resulting in a less invasive surgery.

Customer Reviews

In addition, using these therapies following surgery will help to repair and strengthen any damaged ligaments or tendons more completely. With these therapies you will have less scar tissue formation ini the wrist allowing for more flexibility and less pain than if it was left to heal on its own.

What are the Symptoms of a Sprained Wrist?

If you have suffered a wrist sprain you may be experiencing the following symptoms:

  • Pain when you move your wrist, and possibly when at rest
  • Burning and tenderness in the joint
  • Instability and loss of strength in the wrist
  • Swelling and bruising
  • Snapping or clicking in the joint may eventually occur if the ligaments do not heal properly, causing the bones to slide incorrectly as the wrist moves

Treating a Sprain - What You Can Do!

We Have Advanced Treatment Tools to Help You
Speed Up Healing of Your Wrist Injury

Wrist ligament and tendon tissue tears will heal with massive amounts of scar tissue that is brittle, inflexible and will cause pain and stiffness in your wrist and hand.

The good news is that most wrist sprains will heal quickly with simple home conservative treatments!

First you need to stop the activity that is causing your pain and rest your wrist. Focus on treating the pain, swelling and inflammation in your wrist first to stop tissue damage in its tracks.

It is very important to heal a wrist sprain properly to decrease the chance of re-injury and chronic problems in the future. A sprain that is left untreated or does not heal properly can cause more pain in the wrist, leave it weak and more prone to injury, and may lead to conditions such as osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition in the wrist bone joints, where the articular cartilage that covers the bones becomes damaged and inflamed. Anytime a wrist injury, like a sprain, disrupts the normal motion of the joints the joint mechanics do not operate properly. This puts stress on the articular carliage on the ends of the bones, causing damage that continues over time if the mechanics are not corrected. Osteoarthritis evertually causes pain and stiffness in the wrist and hand.

Fortunately, with the help of ColdCure Technology® and Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy you can heal your wrist sprain damage fasterwith less scar tissue and greater ligament fiber alignment, leaving your wrist stronger and pain free.

Step 1 - Reduce Regular Activities & Rest Your Wrist
Our Freezie Wraps provide consistent cold compression ideal for acute tendonitis injuries.

Allowing your wrist to rest is always recommended following injury. Avoid all activities that may have caused the injury or irritation and begin cold compression treatments as soon as possible. Immediate and continuous treatment with cold compression will reduce the swelling / inflammation induced pain AND decrease the amount of long-lasting damage to your wrist.

When you have your pain, swelling and inflammation under control you can actually start to apply treatments with tools that will encourage healing in your wrist. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy will treat scar tissue and promote blood flow to heal your damaged soft tissue faster and more completely than other methods available. Using these conservative treatment tools can get you back to a life without pain and eliminate any further risk of re-injury.

Step 2 - Reduce Pain & Swelling with Cold Compression
When should you use hot or cold for injuries?

The 2nd step for conservative treatment of your wrist injury is to reduce the swelling to "open up" the area for more blood flow. Anyone in the health-care business knows that your blood supplies the oxygen and much needed nutrients required to heal wrist injuries. This is why for years, doctors, trainers, and other medical professionals have recommended RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) to treat the pain and swelling, chronic pain from injury and after any re-injury.

Although RICE can help to treat these symptoms, ice and freezer gel packs reach temperatures so low they can cause cryoburn, an ice burn on your skin. The problem is, up until now there hasn't been any other option to treat painful conditions and injuries, so ice and blue gel packs (full of anti-freeze and chemicals) have been the only choice available.

Fortunately you no longer have to settle for these ice cold methods that are uncomfortably cold against your skin, provide short term relief, cause ice burns, numb your skin and underlying tissue beyond feeling so you don't even notice the ice burn until it's too late and pool around your injury putting the cold everywhere except for where you need it most.

Use a Wrist Freezie Wrap for consistent cold compression to soothe your pain, swelling and inflammation.

A Wrist Freezie Wrap® allows you to treat your wrist in an effective and convenient way. Our Freezie Wraps® will wrap around your wrist keeping the cold right over your wrist injury for the entire length of your treatment. Our food-grade, non-toxic gel packs can be chilled in the fridge or freezer to tailor the amount of cold that you need for your injury. It doesn't matter how you cool it down, because our gel packs are chock full of gel that's designed to cool down into millions of tiny snowflakes. This method of cooling means our gel packs aren't icy-cold! The cushioned gel will wrap around your wrist and it won't budge for the entire treatment period. You'll no longer have to deal with annoying pooling around your wrist or have to hold a hard block of ice on your injury!

Cold Compression Therapy slows nerve and cell function - reducing the swelling that blocks blood vessels from doing their job.

When should you use hot or cold for injuries?

This is important because once blood vessels are blocked or damaged, they can no longer carry oxygenated blood through the tissue and tissue cells begin to break-down. Without cold compression therapy cellular break-down and tissue damage continues as the cells don't get the oxygen they need to survive. By limiting the amount of damage done to the tendons in your wrist, you also limit the amount of healing that needs to occur. This is a very important step to heal wrist injuries faster and with less pain! This is why you need to treat your carpal tunnel wrist pain right after it's hurt, when you notice pain / swelling / inflammation, or directly after a re-injury. Applying a Wrist Freezie Wrap® right away will stop the damage immediately and unblock your blood vessels to let your body's natural blood flow in to start healing the tissue.

Cold Compression Therapy = the Freezie Wrap®

It'll seem weird for you to read this, but there are a LOT of people out there that don't understand how fast cold compression with a Freezie Wrap® can get the swelling / inflammation in your wrist under control! After you get rid of the swelling for good you can start dealing with your wrist injury and pain head on.

Use a Cold Compression Wrist Freezie Wrap®:

  • 24 to 72 hours after your initial injury or when you first notice pain and swelling to stop cellular damage, relieve pain, and decrease swelling.
  • After exercise, workouts or activity of any kind to prevent re-injury.
  • Before and after surgery during rehabilitation to control pre and post-surgery pain and swelling.
  • Anytime you feel your wrist starting to get tender, painful or swollen again.
  • Anytime you have swelling, sharp throbbing pain or inflammation.
  • Any other situation where you need to draw the pain and inflammation out of your wrist.

Step 3 - Improve Circulation, Soften Scar Tissue & Prevent Re-Injury with Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy

After the inflammation in your wrist has been reduced, providing extra blood flow and strengthening the tissue in your wrist is recommended.

healing your carpal tunnel syndrome

Promoting blood flow to your wrist to help your body heal itself is a concept that has been utilized for centuries. Oxygen and nutrients, carried within the blood, are critical for the body to heal itself. Without proper blood flow, your recovery from any soft tissue injury will be delayed... sometimes for a very long period of time.

Even though the concept is simple, improving blood flow to your wrist while it's injured can be difficult. Traditional methods require you to move in order to promote blood flow - but that same motion that promotes blood flow can also make your pain and tendon injury much worse. Relying on movement alone to increase blood flow puts you in danger of re-injuring your wrist.

So what do you do when you need to increase blood flow, but you can't move without re-injuring your tendon?

This is where Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) comes in! Using BFST® will help with your recovery and heal your wrist more completely. BFST® increases the amount of blood that flows naturally to your soft tissue to nourish your tendons, improve elasticity and speed up the healing process. This increased Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy to your injured tendon is greatly needed.

Use a Wrist Inferno Wrap to increase blood flow and stimulate tissue growth.

The only way to get BFST® is through use of a Wrist Inferno Wrap®. The Wrist Inferno Wrap® is the only treatment method that improves blood flow and circulation on a deep tissue level. Other methods of warming up tissue (hot water bottles, hot baths, etc) will only ever increase blood flow on a surface / skin level. These methods need a LOT of time to even reach the tissue in your wrist on a deep tissue level. And even if you were to use them this long your skin would heat up to an uncomfortable level and you might even get burned!

The best source of heat treatment is from a product where you don't even feel that much heat. When you don't feel the heat, it means the therapy is working in your deep soft tissue which is really where you need it. It's kind of like how your heart works in your body. You can't "feel" your heart pumping blood all around your body to your arms and legs. You can't even hear your own heartbeat without listening very closely. This is exactly how deep tissue BFST® works too! You're not supposed to "feel" a lot of heat because the heat isn't treating your skin, it's treating the damaged tissue in your wrist by increasing the blood flow right in your soft tissue.

When should you use hot or cold for injuries?
  • When treating any soft tissue injury, an effective therapy will increase blood flow to the injury while the joint is immobile.
  • This increase in blood flow will accelerate the body's own ability to heal itself.
  • The Inferno Wrap® is the most highly effective blood flow stimulation device that you will find on the market that is approved by the FDA for use in the home or hospital.

Our Wrist Inferno Wrap® is made from medical-grade material - this should be as important to you as it's to us! Other products that are sold in stores are considered "consumer goods" meaning the material only needs to be as good as a sweater that you wear. Clothing articles like this don't need to meet high standards of production or materials and may include materials that irritate your skin.

Since our wraps are medical-grade products registered with the FDA, they are of a higher quality and need to meet way more standards for manufacturing (ISO 10993 - biocompatibility testing). This makes our wraps the safest product for heating treatment. Our manufacturer has spent years perfecting the wrap design to make sure you get the treatment you deserve!

Use the BFST® Wrist Inferno Wrap®:

  • After swelling and inflammation have been reduced with cold compression.
  • Before exercise, workouts or any repetitive tasks to warm up the soft tissue in your wrist to prevent re-injury.
  • Before and after surgery during rehabilitation to warm up your tissues before physical therapy exercising or stretching.
  • Anytime you feel your wrist has stiffened up, is tight and your mobility is reduced causing you more pain.
  • Anytime you have sore or aching tissue.
  • Any other situation where you need to increase blood flow to your wrist to relax your soft tissue, relieve pain, prevent re-injury and enhance flexibility.

In our testing we discovered that the fit of our wrap will differ with our customers with smaller or larger hands/wrists to provide full treatment coverage. If you find your wrap doesn't cover the area you need to treat, then try using it without the loop around your thumb, wrapping the wrap around your wrist in a different way, or shifting the wrap around until it covers your wrist where you need the treatment most.

Continue the healing process by resting your wrist. Limit the activities that may be aggravate your wrist. Without proper rest and limitation on activities, being active as if your wrist is healthy can lead to re-injury. Our hands give us the ability to perform both large and small complex motor skills - like picking up a heavy object or doing fine, detailed work. We often need both of these skills to perform everyday tasks like working on a computer, cleaning, putting away groceries, gardening, or playing sports. To get back to doing the things you love you need to give your body proper care and attention. Why risk having to limit or give up your favorite weekend activity, your exercise routine, or even your job due to a carpal tunnel injury?

Women are 3 times more likely than men to develop CTS.

People are generally at a higher risk of developing CTS between the ages of 45 and 54.

The carpal tunnel space in the wrist is smaller in women than men.

Those with diabetes or other metabolic disorders that directly affect their nervous system may be at a higher risk of getting carpal tunnel syndrome.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is probably the most common nerve disorder experienced today.

Approximately 3.7% of individuals in the US suffer from CTS.

Usually carpal tunnel syndrome will only affect one hand, but it can affect both hands at the same time.

Children usually donít suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome.

Dear MendMeShop,

I was hesitant to purchase the dorsal night splint since I thought that it would be awkward to sleep with, but with a limited budget I decided to purchase the splint and the freeze wrap for treating plantar fascitis. Within less than 2 weeks I noticed that I could walk without pain when I got up in the morning! This was amazing, since it usually took several minutes of severe limping before I could walk normally in the past. I just did a trip with my husband where we walked on hiking trails for up to 5 miles each day and my foot did just fine. I was amazed that I could do all this with only 2 weeks of treatment!

Dear MendMeShop,

I purchased the Inferno and Freezie because on August 28th my life changed, I was in Florida at the beach taking my last skimboarding run when I heard the dreaded pop and hit from behind. I had in fact after an MRI 2 weeks later ruptured my Achilles Tendon 100%. I was devastated...being 50, an athlete, former track record holder, my life came to a complete standstill. I found your site from an Achilles site with Blogs and I am very grateful. My current condition is nothing short of a miracle. I had surgery two and half weeks ago , surgery was open to repair tendon and was one hour 20 minutes. I was placed in a hard cast with toes down for 1 week, I observed all rules and used crutches 100%. After 1 week cast was removed then I was back in my air cast, I could put absolutely no pressure whatsoever on the repaired leg for 4 days. I received your products and immediately used them. The inferno wrap and freezie are my favorites, I just drove home 200 miles with the inferno wrap on via a 12 volt inverter. Last Saturday night I went out in a flip flop with the injured foot to just get used to having some weight on it. This past week i experimented with different shoes and sneakers and when I attended my second PT session all the swelling and bruising was gone and I had great side to side motion still working on stretching the achilles. Yesterday I drove with sneakers on and walked 1.5 miles on my sons college campus with no crutch, can, etc. Today I wore docksiders and drove home another 200 miles, I am now laying in bed with the Inferno on my left foot which has the intact achilles but it is sore due to disruption of weight from injury, at the same time I have the Freezie on my repaired leg. After reading all the stories on the internet and talking with people as well as knowing of the seriousness of this injury, I believe your products have played a key role to getting me back on my feet and my life headed back to normal 1000 times faster than the average achilles rupture patient. Thank You so much for great products and superior service as well as unprecedented guarantee. I will let you know when I am walking normal without any limp

Dear MendMeShop,

I just wanted to let you know how happy I have been with my wrist wrap. I broke my leg, the tibia and fibula January 10, 2013. I had a lot of soft tissue damage to my foot since I fell off a pier and landed on gravel with my foot. My tendons are so tight and at night they wake me up a lot, had a metatarsal lump on the bottom of my foot which gave me issues. I was going to order the foot pad but the lady advised me to get the wrist wrap since the top of my foot was involved and she said I could probably wrap it around different places and she was so right. I am much better. I have been using it about a month now and I can tell you that I am much better. The energy from the wrap helps my tendons to stretch out and although I am not 100%, I have gone from 50% to 75% in this one month. I only wish I had found you earlier in my ordeal and I would probably be 100% by now. I would recommend your product to anyone who is having tendon issues after an injury. Thank you so much
